Before deciding Source notebook
Look for proof about the exact product.
A claim about peptides in general does not answer a question about a particular medicine or offer.
A compounded medicine is made or changed to order for a patient.
Ask whether the claim fits the same product.
As of September 2026, FDA identified claims that compounded drugs were the same as approved products, or proven to give the same result, as misleading.
Ask whether the evidence is about the exact medicine being offered and what it would treat.
A claim about peptides in general does not answer those questions about your medicine.
A drug code does not prove FDA approval.
NDC means National Drug Code. It is a number that names a particular product in a drug list.
As of September 2026, FDA explicitly said that an NDC listing did not show that it had approved the product.
Ask for the approval record behind a claim rather than stopping at a code.
A reported problem is a signal, not proof of cause.
FDA publishes reports it receives about problems people experienced while using medicines. The report alone cannot establish that a medicine was responsible for the problem.
The reports also cannot tell how often a problem happens among all users.
Ask what the evidence can show and what it leaves uncertain.
Committee headlines do not change compounding law.
FDA keeps a list of certain ingredients allowed in medicines made to order by regular pharmacies. As of September 2026, a committee’s advice could not add an ingredient to that list. FDA had to change the rule that sets the list.
Rulemaking is the process of publishing a proposed rule, taking public comments and making a final decision.
Ask for the current final rule when a claim relies on a meeting or a headline.
