The bill Follow-up notes
Find out what happens after the first visit.
Before paying, ask who answers later questions and which later costs belong in the budget.
Know who answers a question after the medicine arrives.
In its consumer checklist, the FDA flags online weight-care services that have no licensed doctor available for later questions.
Ask how to reach the doctor or nurse responsible for your care, who will reply and what that reply costs.
Ask the same questions of an in-person clinic. Write down the route you would use.
Separate a refill from a review of care.
Ask what gets reviewed at a later visit: your goal, how you are doing, questions or test results.
Ask whether that review is included in the original fee and what happens if the plan changes.
Leave with a description of the follow-up, rather than just a promise that another package will arrive.

This is advice for state boards writing their rules. Your state’s rules decide what the service must do.
Ask where that referral would go and how those charges would be handled.
